Blue Star Fern

The Blue Star Fern is one the easier ferns, and the blue tinge to the leaf makes it a really distinctive colour.

Your Blue Star will appreciate consistently moist soil, but do not allow it to become waterlogged as they are sensitive to root rot.  Water once the top 5cm of soil has become dry.

Blue stars need more light than most ferns, medium to bright indirect light is perfect.

Feed once a month during the spring and summer months.

Blue stars like a very well draining soil mix.  Visit our soil bar to add plenty of orchid bark, perlite and pumice to a standard household potting mix.

Standard household temperatures are fine.

Normal household humidity is fine however they do prefer higher humidity. Achieve this with a pebble tray, a humidifier, or by grouping your plants together.

Blue star are considered non toxic to humans and animals.
